This restaurant has perfect 5 star rating on GrubHub despite being rated over 1500 times and I was curious. Th rating is indeed true and I just has one of the best shrimp tempura sushi in my life. Their signature dish is the Godzilla which is the one I had and it's definitely the best seller. I am blown away by th taste they pack in just less than 15 USD.
Amazing food!!! Red curry, Tom ka, pad Thai, and mango rice are just a few of the personal favorites. I wish they would bring the calamari back because it was the best I have ever had. Also wish they would switch the mushrooms in the tomka back to white mushrooms. This place is so good inexpensive and byob
Got there for an early supper about 5pm on a Saturday so the place was empty and quiet which we enjoyed, plus service was prompt and attentive. I would recommend the Really good Tom Yum soup, served in a giant individual bowl! We also ordered a spider roll and crab Rangoon, can’t go wrong with appetizers and sushi at this place. A nice neighborhood spot for Thai and Sushi.
Food is art and magic; it evokes emotion and colors memory, and in skilled hands, meals become greater than the sum of their ingredients a great local place to make you feel back in Asia.
My first time there ! I asked the chef to surprise me with his best 5 rolls , and all of them were excellent, fresh fish, excellent mix of flavor ! I tried to pick one to be my favorite or to rank the rolls! Honestly they were all excellent!
Definitely will be back to try some more !
A cozy dine in restaurant that serves both thai food and sushi. Once we entered we were greeted and was given the option to sit wherever we liked. The service was good with the food coming promptly. We ordered the bangkok sushi , portage park sushi and mount fugi sushi.
The presentation was great and food was amazing. I would definitely order again
Very nice and kind service and very good sushi. Fresh and tasty. Definitely coming back!
I used to like this place (and its menu) very much. Not anymore! I'm not sure what happened during the pandemic and after, but it is not the nice, cozy spot with the food I loved. I hope the sushi and maki still taste the way they did two years ago, but I aimed at Tom Yum soup and the shrimp Pad Thai. Both happen to be extremely disappointing. The soup I ate at the restaurant while waiting for the Pad Tai. It was spicy and watery, with 2 (or three) little shrimps, few pieces of cut mushrooms, and tons of diced (raw) tomatoes. I cannot complain about the four tiny (but tasty) egg rolls. The second course, I tried at home. I mean, my husband did. I couldn't believe that what I received was the old, tasty Pad Thai... There were no noodles (only a cooked white rice on a side, no eggs, no well known veggies usually added to the dish... I couldn't believe my eyes! Really. Awful disappointment and waste of time and money. Never again will I visit the place! I didn't even care to complain or return the dish. I just wanted to get over my disappointment and rage far away from Ruk - at home.
